Africa Day at Chisuma School: A Wild Bhiza Celebration of Culture, Community & Connection
Africa Day holds a special place in the heart of Zimbabwe. It’s a time to reflect on unity, celebrate culture, and honour African heritage. And this year, Africa Day at Chisuma Primary School, nestled near the stunning Batoka Gorge just outside Victoria Falls, was something truly unforgettable.
Africa Day, the Wild Bhiza Way
The Wild Bhiza team saddled up and rode out to Chisuma Primary School to celebrate the occasion with the children, teachers, and the wider community. What followed was a heartwarming experience filled with curious eyes, brave hearts, and a few surprise visitors, too!
First Rides, Big Smiles & Pure Magic
As we arrived on horseback, the school grounds came alive with excitement. For many of the children, this was their very first encounter with a horse. Some of the little ones even gathered the courage to hop on for their first-ever ride—a moment of joy and bravery we’ll never forget.
Even the Deputy Headmaster and a teacher couldn’t resist the fun—they had a go too, laughing and cheering as they rode with the kids.
A Real Community Affair—Donkeys Included!
Just when we thought the day couldn’t get more delightful, a group of village donkeys trotted in to investigate the excitement. It was as if they, too, wanted to be part of the fun. And that’s the essence of what made the day so magical—it wasn’t just a school event; it was a community celebration, animals and all.
What Wild Bhiza Is All About
At Wild Bhiza, we believe in the power of horses to create connection, confidence, and change. Whether it’s a first ride, a quiet moment of bonding, or a burst of laughter during a cultural celebration, every experience matters.
One ride, one child, one moment at a time.
